We are planning to come for the Bonneville Salt Flat racing in 2012. I have never been there before and am struggling to know where to book my motel. Can you recommend a motel close to the raceway that is clean and has nearby entertainment and restaurants?

I would recommend you look for lodging in Wendover, Nevada just 10 miles to the west of where the racing usually happens. This is 121 miles west of Salt Lake City.
Wendover is a small city with several excellent hotel/casinos. A mini Las Vegas. And their prices are very reasonable. Go to: http://www.wendoverfun.com/main.html for more information.
