Distinct Climates

My son is doing this for Utah Studies and need's to know what are Utah's 3 distinct climates?

After a little research, I've found the following:

1. Steppe/Valley: most of the state's population lives in this zone. Summer is hot and dry. Winter is cold and wet.

2. Desert - Great Basin and the Colorado Plateau Region: very little rainfall or plant life.

3. Highland or Mountain: snowpack stores water. Summer is cooler. Winter is wet.

Hope this helps.
