Is the trail open for hiking now (as of July 29, 2011)?
Since you live in Park City, you know that we had a late spring, late start to the summer, and one of the heaviest snowfalls on record last winter.
I haven't been up to Cecret Lake (yes, spelled with a C) in quite awhile. As of July 18 ... 11 days ago ... the trail was still completely iced over.
Still a lot of mud and snow with very few flowers blooming. By now, probably a lot more flowers blooming but the trail is probably still partially covered with a lot of mud and ice.
If you're looking for a pleasant experience, probably better to wait a couple more weeks. If you don't care about that, then go for it.
