Junior Ranger Program – Life in the Brine. May 8th

Join park naturalist for a look at those little pink critters who call Great Salt Lake home. We will get an up close and personal look, collect a few of our own, and learn why shrimp are so important to the ecosystem on Antelope Island.

Ogden Astronomical Society Star Party
May 8th - Sunset

Join Ogden Astronomical Society for a look into the heavens. Telescopes of all sizes will be available for viewing, and astronomers will be on hand to answer questions.

Bring blankets or chairs and stick around until 12 am. Program begins right before sunset, with a sun-viewing telescope.

Bird Festival 2010 Events. May 14-16

Join Park Naturalist for an extra-ordinary event!

Sign up through http://www.greatsaltlakebirdfest.com/index.php for two chances to see some of the Islands amazing birds of prey! We will be prowling through the park in search of burrowing owls, great horned owls, short eared owls, long eared owls, and barn owls, as well as any others we may encounter.

Program runs FRIDAY and SUNDAY from 5:30-9:30 pm. Reservations are required and can be made at the above website. Meet at the Davis County Legacy Events Center.

Join us on Saturday as well at Davis County Fairgrounds for a day of fun with the kids!

Antelope Island will have a booth all about attracting birds to your backyard, and many other organizations will be there with live birds, activities, and games. Come and join the fun! 10:00 a.m.-5:00 pm.

Homeschool Program – Birds. May 25th

Attention Homeschoolers! Join us for a day of Birding on the Island. Bring binoculars if you have them. If not, we will provide as we learn all about our feathered friends.

We'll discover the magic of flight, what makes birds so unique, and then go out to see some of the thousands of birds that visit Antelope Island each season.

Program runs 10:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 801-721-9569 or emailing at michellecroft@utah.gov. Programs are restricted to 35. And reservations are first-come first serve.
